This
is a safari package that includes the exotic
spice island of Zanzibar and a safari to the
famous national parks in the northern circuit
of Tanzania. It is a comprehensive tour that
will allow you to watch the African wildlife
and then relax on the unspoiled white beaches
and clear waters of the Indian Ocean in the
romantic island of Zanzibar under the warm tropical
sun.
Day
1. Arrival and overnight at Impala Hotel B/B
Day 2. After breakfast drive to Tarangire National
Park, which is considered one of the most
scenic parks in Tanzania, with its huge baobab
trees, some of which are over 500,000
years old. The park in recent times has witnessed
tree climbing lions and is well known
for its large migratory herds of elephants.
The park is 650,000 acres, making it the third
largest park in Tanzania. Lunch break inside
the park and later game viewing en-route to
Mto wa Mbu. Dinner and Overnight at Migungani
Lodge.
Day 3. With your packed lunch boxes drive to
Lake Manyara National Park. This park is on
the
western edge of the Great Rift Valley. Although
the park is small, it offers surprisingly a
diverse habitat and wildlife. The entrance to
the park is a rain forest fed by underground
springs and a home to Baboons, Monitors, Pythons
and a tremendous variety
of birds. The heart of the park is the large
soda lake where Flamingoes, WaterFowl and Hippos are witnessed. The most stunning
aspect of this particular park
is "LION ON THE TREES". This is an
unpredictable view, only lucky ones witness
the
show. Dinner and Overnight at Migungani Lodge.
Day 4. Soon after breakfast you will depart
for Serengeti National Park. Your first sight
of this
endless plain is bound to impress you. Afternoon
at leisure and a sundowner game
viewing of Serengeti National Park. Dinner and
Overnight Serengeti Camp Site.
Day 5. With your packed lunch boxes you will
enjoy a full day game viewing of MIGHTY
SERENGETI, driving along Grumeti River and have
an opportunity to view resident
herds of Wildebeest, Zebras and multitude of
Gazelles and Crocodiles. All major
predators can be seen following the herds. Dinner
and Overnight Serengeti Camp Site.
Day 6. After breakfast, with your packed lunch
boxes descend to the foot of the Ngorongoro
highlands, we stop at Oldvuai Gorge, one of
the world's greatest archaeological
sites, where Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey discovered
in 1959 the 1.75 million-year-old remains of
the Zinjanthropus and in 1979 the earliest known
footprints of man. Dinner and Overnight at Ngorongoro
Simba Camp site.
Day 7. With your packed lunch boxes descend
2000ft into Africa’s Garden of Eden - The Ngorongoro Crater for a full day game viewing.
This is a spectacular nature sanctuary and diverse terrain of its 102 square
miles basin support year round
population of over 30,000 animals and over 350
species of birds. Lunch break inside
the crater and later game viewing en-route to Arusha. Dinner and Overnight in Hotel.
Day 8. A leisure breakfast, souvenir shopping, lunch break and
in the afternoon catch a flight
to
the spice island of Zanzibar. Zanzibar offers
one of the most relaxing and "time out"
experiences after the wildlife safari. Arrival and transfer to Tembo House
Hotel. Leisure evening.
Dinner and Overnight at Tembo House Hotel.
Day 9. Morning at 8:00 am city tour - this tour
will take you to Zanzibar historical sites like
former
slave market, the central market, to narrow
streets, the old fort, the house of wonders and
Sultan's palace. This tour will take about 2:30
hours and there after will go on a spice tour
visiting the spice farms and tasting local
spices and many different
types of fruits. Break for lunch and then go to Mangapwani
to see the slave cave and swim in the warm
waters of the Indian Ocean. Back to town by 5:00
pm.
At 7:00 out for dinner at African
House Restaurant and after dinner back to Tembo
House Hotel for overnight.
Day 10. Morning, after breakfast, pole pole (means
slowly) go to the picking point from main
Island and take a boat trip to the Prison Island
(Changuu Island) where you can see giant
tortoise of different sizes some of which are more
than 180 years old, swim and snorkel off the
Island. At 4:00pm get back to the Hotel. At
7:00pm go to Blue Bay Beach Resort
for a Swahili dinner and back to Tembo
House Hotel for overnight.
Day 11. Early morning after breakfast drive
to south part of the Island at Kizimkazi Village
and
then take a boat to the dolphin site where you
can swim with dolphins. There after back to
the main Island to have lunch
at Kizimkazi Village and then drive back to town.
At 7:00pm go to the Zanzibar Beach Resort for
dinner and after that back to Tembo House
Hotel for overnight.
Day 12. This is the final day. After breakfast,
go
to the spices and curio shops for souvenir
shopping, and later drive to the seaport
to board the Hydra Foil to
Dar es Salaam. Dinner and Overnight at New Africa
Hotel.
Day 13. A short Dar es salaam City Tour, souvenir shopping,
visit to Internet Cafe. Lunch break and late
in the
evening after a Cup of Coffee drive
to Airport for departure.
